This is an awesome candy. I wish they sold them in Maryland. I ordered them online in October and was very pleased. I will get more as a my friend visit family in Texas for Christmas.
Texans love Longhorns - candy that is! In other parts of the country folks call these little bits of heaven Turtles. Lammes Candy Company takes Texas pecans and smothers them in chewy caramel. The candy makers then let the caramel sit on top of the pecans just long enough to form a shell. Then each piece of candy is dipped in premium milk chocolate. Are you salivating yet? Texas Treats carries this delicious candy in both 6oz. and 12 oz. boxes.
Lammes Candy Company has been making candy since 1884 in Austin, Texas. They've been making Longhorns for a long time and finally trademarked the name in 1984. Now folks just ask for Longhorns!
Wish I could find them here locally. So when I order I order a case.
Bought these for my wife as part of her anniversary present. I was in Texas and bought them for her a couple of years ago. Found them on line and bought them as a surprise. She loves them.
